Who we are
The Baldwin City Homebrewers club is dedicated to fostering a community of home brewers by appreciating, sharing, and making great beers, wines, ciders and spirits through education, networking, and creativity.
Our primary goals are to bring together home brewers of all skill levels to share, learn, and socialize. Our mission guides the club to foster a community of home brewers in the Baldwin City, KS area and educate anyone who is interested.
The club accomplishes these goals through monthly club meetings and a number of planned events including brew days, tours, participating in local beer festivals, or just getting together to enjoy some homebrew. Check out the calendar of events on the homepage for upcoming events.
Here are a few things about the club:
- A “social” after every meeting. Members and guests share their brews and can even get feedback from qualified BJCP judges if they wish.
- Gadgets — our members have some of the most interesting and clever beer gadgets around to share.
- Presentations from members, professional brewers, and industry experts.
- Beer style discussions and tastings — exploring the hundreds of beer styles in the world.
- Wine and spirit discussions and tastings
- Defect evaluation trainings. Helping members identify issues with their beers and how to correct them.
- Planning for events like: The National Homebrewers Convention and other local and area events.
- Help and planning for competitions: how to select your best beer, help with brewing questions, and planning for future competitions.
- Judging and beer appreciation boot camps. The Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) and Cicerone.
- Tours to local breweries and events.
- And just plain good times!
